***page is under construction 18.06.19***
There are certain questions I am asked very often and I would like to post those questions here for those who may not feel confident to ask but the answer might be interesting for them.
There are no daft questions, so please if you don't see a question answered here, or the answer doesn't clarify the subject clearly enough for you, please contact me.

Can I Have a Discount on a Rat Pair?
This is not frequently asked in all honesty but when it is asked my blood boils! haha. Let me explain... the price of my rats is based on my skills, time, support given as a responsible rat breeder and the baby rats themselves, not your budget.
I will not reply to messages trying to bargain for my rats and if you haven't received a response this is why.
My rats aren't expensive (not even nearly) so I really dont appreciate the rare message along these lines.

Can I Buy a Single Rat from You Pleeaasseee because...
NOPE! haha sorry! I make it very clear that I will NOT sell rats individually under any circumstances whatsoever. Please do not ask and put me in the position of feeling like a meanie when I tell you no. It makes me feel bad and I don't like being a meanie!! hehe.
Now the awkward questions are out the way, we may commence with the actual FAQ's haha....
What cage can you recommend?
An excellent question!!! I have MANY MANY cages so I feel very qualified to answer this question! Please click HERE for a detailed answer. In short, for upto three rats, I recommend the following cages (screen shots, click image for full view) for their ease of use...
Dimensions are in the pic. These dimensions are a great guide if you’re considering a different cage. They give you something to compare the other cages to as you know these cages really are a “minimum” size and nothing smaller, even for two rats.
The zavic cage as Iv mentioned on other pages, can be very awkward (they fall apart when moving them. I have had a lot and they all do it). However, there’s no doubt that they’re value for money! Tie them up with cables or use super glue and this could solve the problem if it’s annoying you (like it annoys me 😂).

For large groups of rats, I recommend cages like this... (I have this specific cage from this company and I can't recommend it enough but please note... it really is HUGE!).
Do not overwhelm your baby rats with a huge cage. It's better to start small and then have a huge cage once the rats are completely at ease with you and fully grown. It is extremely hard to bond with more reserved rats in a huge cage. Put the same rat into a small cage and it's easy peasy (providing the rat has friends).
Should I have Female or Male Rats?
This very much depends on what you want from your rats, your age and so much more!
I can only help you to understand which sex you would like by letting you know the differences between the sex's. Just note before continuing; there are ALWAYS exceptions to any rule! I am writing this from my own experience and that is extremely important to remember, try to do some extra research if you can.
Males: Laid back generally. More sleepy during the morning and early afternoon than the females. Are not as active. If you see a ratty on youtube/Instagram being cuddled and fussed while it sits down 90% of the time this is a male rat. Very gentle (I have never had a male who snatches food from me). They have obvious genitalia (their testies, nothing else) and this can put people off. It is said they "wee" on their owners. I only experience this when I have to wake up and snatch up a male from his bed but before this was mentioned to me I had not even noticed this. Females might not do this because theyre already woke by the time you come to them? maybe. I have people tell me they've heard males smell more. Hmmmm can't really agree there. My opinion only. Plus I do only keep large groups of rats and theyre pretty stinky by nature haha. So, I can not confirm this. If smell is an issue for you, keep your rats down to two only, clean daily and dont keep them in your bedroom, living room, hall etc (but please dont ignore or isolate them). My rats are kept in a rat shed because of the sheer numbers and sizes of their wonderful cages. As a breeder, this is the only way to keep your house clean and tidy. But I may as well live in my rat room as they are never short of attention from me.
Females: Firstly, do not come to the conclusion that female rats are not loving because of the above info for males! This couldn't be further from the truth. They are just different. I have females that are extremely loving (Sophie and Eliot).
